Delay at STATESET

Issue/Introduction

 

We have come to notice that on occasion there is a big delay in between STATESET is issued and it takes actual effect.

Is there any reason for this lag? Can this be avoided?

Resolution

Recommend increasing the value of the OSFMAX parm.   Monitoring could then be set up for a rule to alert when the following message reaches the OSFMAX value:  

    OPS3713I OSF TSO server added due to excessive queue depth (20)

In this example OPS/MVS would be monitoring for the OSFMAX value of 20
