Issue/Introduction

When you add a second EEM server to SOI to provide high availability (HA) for EEM, where is the server information stored?

Environment

Release : 4.2

Component : Service Operations Insight (SOI) Manager

Cause

SOI allows you to add a second EEM server for EEM HA.

Please take note - SOI will only read from one EEM at a time, we use the first one, and if that becomes unavailable, then we move to the second one.

Resolution

For the manager:

When there is only 1 EEM server, the information is stored in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SOI\tomcat\webapps\sam\eem-config.xml

Once you add the second hostname, and hit save, a new file is created:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SOI\tomcat\custom\eem-config.xml

The files are not identical, and the password is encrypted.

For the UI:

When there is only 1 EEM server, the information is stored in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SOI\SamUI\webapps\sam\eem-config.xml

Once you add the second hostname, and hit save, a new file is created:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SOI\SamUI\custom\eem-config.xml
