Issue/Introduction

This Knowledge Document explains why the OPERATOR ID field in SASSHIS8 Report 02 is sometimes *NA* and how to obtain the actual OPERATOR ID associated with all CA 7 Edition commands.

Resolution

Operator ID of *NA* is shown in SASSHIS8 HR02 if the operator is logged on to CA 7 Edition prior to the time specified in the SASSHIS8 control card. Internal log records are produced by CA 7 commands. Prior to CA 7 r11.3, the OPERATOR ID was only captured on the actual /LOGON command, and not captured on subsequent commands. Beginning with CA 7 r11.3, a new value of ALL can be specified on the LOGOPID keyword of the SECURITY statement to capture OPERATOR ID on all logged terminal input, which eliminates the potential of OPERATOR ID being *NA*. If you use LOGOPID=ALL on the SECURITY statement and still get *NA*, check your control card for the 02 or 12 report to be sure that *ALL* is specified in columns 42 through 46.

If LOGOPID=ALL is not specified, you can circumvent the problem by running the SASSHIS8 extract for a longer period of time. If you use LOGOPID=NO, then no USERID is displayed in the 02 or 12 reports.
