Issue/Introduction

Description:

You are trying to install Common Services r14.0 or r14.1 and you are unable to GIMUNZIP the MFNSM.pax.z components.

The GIMUNZIP job ends with the error message:
GIM49000S ** GIMUNZIP COULD NOT LOCATE THE REQUIRED PACKAGE ATTRIBUTE FILE 'GIMPAF.XML ' WITHIN
THE DIRECTORY NAMED ON THE SMPDIR DD STATEMENT.
GIM20501I GIMUNZIP PROCESSING IS COMPLETE. THE HIGHEST RETURN CODE WAS 12.

Since you are missing the GIMAPF.XML file, it could be a problem with space.

The GIMAPF.XML is one of the last modules extracted. If there is a space concern then this file may not have been created when the MFNSM pax file was un-paxed.

To check on space availability you could enter command:

'df -kP /uss dir/' or 'df -k /uss dir/'

and see if there is enough space available.

Solution:

We suspect that either the USS filesystem filled or the copy of the pax.Z file was incomplete.

In fact, the pax.Z file for MFNSM is very large as compared to the other three pax files...

202 MB (211,825,152 bytes)

Please download the pax file again and unpax it...
