CA View - Is it possible to Use View Security to Restrict Access to Certain Reports Based on Their Creation Date?

Issue/Introduction

There are production reports in a test database, and those reports contain sensitive data.

Would it be possible to use View security to restrict access to those production reports, based on their creation date?

Resolution

Unfortunately, there is nothing granular in View security that can be implemented regarding a timeframe. 

With that, it was suggested that possibly the client could create another View database, to isolate the production reports in question, where security could be applied to that particular resulting database.

The process would involve:

 . Performing a SARDBASE selective UNLOAD on the database currently holding the production reports. 

 . Creating a new database.

 . Running SARDBASE MERGE, of the UNLOAD file, to the new database.

 . Running SARPAC, so reports get placed on the proper tapes.

 . Collecting the production reports to the new database, rather than the previous database.

 . Applying the proper security to the new database.

 . Deleting the production reports from the original database.
