Need for Regenerating BINDS for PTFs SO14382 & SO14383

Issue/Introduction

The following PTFs require a new BIND job:

SO14382 – Regenerate BINDS?

SO14383 - Bind Control Cards have changed as part of this maintenances. After  this maintenance is applied, Bind Control cards must be regenerated for all installed product plans and packages.

Is it really necessary to regenerate the BIND job?

Resolution

YES. Because there was a change in the package list related to Fast Unload Package.  What this means is you need to use the post install panels to regenerate the bind JCL to pull in any new packages and rebind the packages and plan.

We usually recommend reviewing the Holddata that would have been generated with the application of maintenance if any ptf introduced the need to regenerate and run the 0002 post-install bind job, or if an object has changed, the need to regenerate and run the 0000 and 0001 compare/create post-install jobs.
