UIM 20.3 Silent Install fails with data_engine error

Issue/Introduction

I am trying to install UIM 20.3 using the silent install option with an installer.properties file.

 

Installation fails after the following error is repeated multiple times:

 DEBUG pds.PDSController:send:177 [main]  - Sending 'nametoip' with sid: M4..., timeout: 30000
 WARN  probe.ProbeController:waitForResponse:245 [main]  - nametoip failed: (4) not found, Received status (4) on response (for sendRcv) for cmd = 'nametoip' name = 'data_engine'"

 

Environment

Release : 20.3

Component : UIM - INSTALL

Resolution

This will be resolved in a future version of the installer.

As a workaround, you may download the SQL native client 12 driver from Microsoft and install it on the UIM Server prior to running the silent install.

From this link please download and install:

ENU/x64/sqlncli.msi

Once this has been installed to the UIM Server, the silent installation will succeed.
