Issue/Introduction

Currently, all user AREA entities in CA Datacom Datadictionary (DD) use DEVICE type 3380 which is the default, but the files are actually stored on 3390. Will there any benefit of changing the DEVICE type to use 3390?

Environment

Release : 15.1

Component : CA DATACOM DATADICTIONARY

Resolution

As you can read on the DEVICE section of Datacom 15.1 documentation, this attribute is for documentation purposes only:

DEVICE

(Optional)
The name of the disk device type where the area resides. This attribute-type is for documentation purposes only, but it is edited for valid values.

Additional Information

If you want to change the default value for DEVICE attribute, see also article How to change default values for AREA DEVICE and BLOCK-SIZE?
