Issue/Introduction

There is high disk usage observed on Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) server.
On further checks, the "dump" folder in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data" is found to be containing huge files and/or many files that are taking up a large amount of disk space.

Cause

Data is not cleaned up as it is processed for insertion into the database.

Resolution

The files in this location can be safely deleted.

  1. Stop the SEPM services.
  2. Delete the files at C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\dump
*Drive letter or path may be different if an alternate install path was used during the SEPM installation process
  3. Start the SEPM services.
