Issue/Introduction

Description:

When upgrading to CA Datacom/DB 14.0, job BDUPG06 may send the following error message:

DB00501E - OPEN ERROR - RETURN CODE 60 (146) CXX=cxxname (LXX )

The Datacom return code 60(146) means "INVALID LOG CONTROL BLOCK".

If there is no JCL error related to the LXX DD statement in your BDUPG06 job then your LXX file is still in "fixed" format.

Solution:

VARIABLE format is the only format supported for the LXX data set with CA Datacom/DB 14.0 and above.

To initialize the LXX file in VARIABLE format you may use the LXXINIT and FXXINIT steps from the BDNEW01 job in the CA Datacom/DB 14.0 INSTJCL library.
