Issue/Introduction

Could you please let us know how to check License utilization details  for DX Operational Intelligence?

 

Environment

DIGITAL OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENCE - 1.3.2

Resolution

DOI 1.32 are licensed on device count.

1 device from DX APM or APM functionality in DX SaaS counts as 0.25 Devices
1 device from DX Infrastructure Manager counts as 1 Device
1 device from DX NetOps counts as 1 Device

 

You can use the self-service dashboards to create a custom dashboard and see all the devices in elastic

Create a viewlet for each of the below indices

Itoa_inventory_apm_x
Itoa_inventory_capm_x
Itoa_inventory_spectrum_x
Itoa_inventory_uim_device_x

You can find below 2 examples:

Example #1 : How to create a viewlet for the UIM inventory index:

  1. Open Self Service Dashboards

  1. Click Viewlets, Create a new viewlet

3.Give a name, click Next

  1. Select the index : itoa_inventory_uim_device_1

You should see a preview of your servers

Click Next

 

  1. (Optional) Choose an Aggregate - Query Builder

Select host > group by value > select top 500 (increase the value as you need to )

 

  1. (Optional) “Choose a Metric“

Skip this step, click “Next”

 

  1. (Optional) “Create a Filter”

Skip this step, click “Next”

 

  1. Select the columns you want to see in the report

Leave default selection, click Next

 

  1. Select Chart type

In this example I use just the Table Chart

 

Click Next

Click Create

 

  1. You should see your report

  1. Click “View” menu option

  2. Select a specific data range, for example past 3 months, click Apply

 

 

 

Example #2 : How to create a viewlet for the APM inventory index:

  1. Create a new viewlet

2.Give a name, click Next

  1. Select the index : itoa_inventory_apm_device_1

You should see a preview of your servers

Click Next

Select host > group by value > select top 2000 (increase the value as you need to )

 

  1. (Optional) “Choose a Metric“

Skip this step, click “Next”

 

  1. (Optional) “Create a Filter”

Skip this step, click “Next”

 

  1. Select the columns you want to see in the report

  1. Select Chart type
