Issue/Introduction

SMFTYPE=132 is currently being used for some of the repositories.

Another product needs to use type 132.  Can the SMFTYPE be changed by running a SARINIT job.

Environment

Release : 14.0

Component : CA View

Cause

N/A

Resolution

CA View can use any SMF record type unless it is being used by another product.

You can change the SMFTYPE to any that is available, between 128 and 255 as they will all produce the same information.

To find an available SMF record type, review the contents of SYS1.PARMLIB(SMFPRMxx).

SYS(TYPE(128,132,140,144,....)  here you  can see that 129,133-139..... are available as they are not referenced.

More information can be found in the CA VIEW documentation  Enable SMF Records

Running SARINIT and recycling the product will reload and use the changed value.
