Resolution

All of the messages found in the batch job output involved the same tape being in use at the time of the job run.

The IEF861I messages indicate that a job requested the use of a dataset that was not available at the time, as the dataset was reserved for other jobs currently running in the system.

The IEF863I messages indicate that View tape ....SARTAPE.T0001659 was requested for use, but was not available.

The IEF458D messages indicate that the system was requesting a dataset that was in use by another job.

The SARTPI42 messages indicate that there was a dynamic allocation error in accessing tape ....SARTAPE.T0001659.

The SARTPI44 messages indicate that, as there was a problem accessing tape ....SARTAPE.T0001659, there was a switch attempted to use a duplex tape, however the client was not using duplexing, so no duplex tape was available as well.

A View backup was running during the time range of the messages and had control of the requested tape.

A suggestion was made to review the SARSTC log, for time ranges of the start and end of Phase 1 processing, and to run the batch job at a time when the backup did not have control of the tape.
