Issue/Introduction

When sending SNMP v3 traps to a third party software, you will likely need to specify the AAI engine ID that is sent by AAI when sending the trap.

 

Environment

Release : 6.1.0

Component : AUTOMIC AUTOMATION INTELLIGENCE ENGINE

Resolution

In the jaws.log on the AAI server, located in the /<install dir>/jboss/standalone/log directory you will see lines like below after enabling SNMPv3 traps to be sent.

There will be a line showing "Generated local engine id"  which will have the engine id you will need to provide the 3rd party SNMP Software that is receiving the traps.
