Issue/Introduction

After submitting workflow for execution, job properties are not editable in Process Monitoring perspective without clicking on another object in the workflow. ‘Save’ button is grayed out if there is an attempt to save the changes without clicking on another object in workflow first.

Example:

  1. Create a simple workflow with 2 jobs in it
  2. Set a breakpoint on the first job manually though properties of the job in the Process Assembly Perspective, save the object
  3. Execute the workflow
  4. Go to process monitoring
  5. Open the properties of the job that has breakpoint set and in status ‘HELD – Manual stop has been set’
  6. Click on ‘Modify’ to modify the workflow
  7. In the Job Properties – General, uncheck ‘Set Breakpoint’ checkmark

Expected Behavior:

-‘Save’ button is not grayed out, and you can save the changes made

Actual Behavior:

-‘Save’ button is still grayed out, and you’re unable to save the changes made to the object.
In order to save the changes, you need click on another object in the workflow (job, or start or end), then click back on the object again to remove the breakpoint, and only then you can save the changes.

This applies to all of the changes that can be made in the jobs’ properties of the workflow in the Process Monitoring perspective, such as earliest start time, dependencies, latest start/end time, etc.

Environment

Release : 12.3.X

Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE

Cause

Defect

Resolution

Upgrade to one of the following versions or higher:

Automation.Engine 21.0.0 - released

Automation.Engine 12.3.5 - released

Workaround:

To apply and save the changes, click on any other object in the workflow in Process Monitoring (Start, End, job, etc.), then the changes made afterwards can be saved.
