"failed to connect" error in Spectrum NOTIFIER.OUT file

Issue/Introduction

Spectrum AlarmNotifier is configured to send e-mail. However, e-mail is not being sent and the following error is seen in the $SPECROOT/Notifier/NOTIFIER.OUT file:

Using SMTP host MY.SMTP.HOST.com
Using return address "Spectrum" <Spectrum@>MY.SMTP.HOST.com>
failed to connect

Environment

Release : Any

Component : Spectrum Apps/AlaarmNotifier

Cause

This is an error returned from the SMTP host.

Resolution

Issue needs to be addressed at the SMTP server.
