EZOPTBL is the option file used with CA Easytrieve release 11.6.
EZTPOPT is the option table used with CA Easytrieve release 6.4.
When does EZOPTBL come into play? When is EZTPOPT used?
CA Easytrieve Report Generator, release 11.6
EZTPOPT: This is the option table used for both CA Easytrieve release 6.4 0311 as well as the Compatibility mode found in CA Easytrieve release 11.6.
EZOPTBL: This is the option file used for true release 11.6.
Compatibility mode: Programs run in compatibility mode when either a program was compiled and linked under release 6.4 and now running that executable under release 11.6 - or- program run in compatibility mode when NEWFUNC is set to N under EZOPTBL and the programs are executing as compile and go, executing EZTPA00.
When programs are running in compatibility mode under release 11.6 and executing EZTPA00, first the NEWFUNC parm is checked in EZOPTBL. If this is set to N, then the EZTPOPT parameter values will be used. EZTPOPT values are also referenced when executing a load module created under release 6.4.
This is one reason why EZTPOPT must be copied to release 11.6 from 6.4. The EZTPOPT module we deliver is delivered with default values.
Please note: EZOPTBL and EZTPOPT perform similar roles, just different terminology based on which release is being used.
