Issue/Introduction

How to customize SYSVIEW to monitor data by SYSPLEX instead of LPAR?

Is this feature available for v15 and what are the disadvantages to use the option and the complexity of using SYSPLEX settings?

Environment

SYSVIEW 15.0 & 16.0 - z/OS supported releases -

Resolution

SYSPLEX feature is available for SYSVIEW 15.0.

About logstreams, moving logstreams to a coupling facility will allow any lpar in the SYSPLEX to write to that logstream.

About monitoring/threshold definitions, those should not work across a SYSPLEX.

Another possibility is issuing specific commands.

Many of SYSVIEW commands are cross system enabled and adding an "XSYS" parameter after the command will show data from multiple systems.

Here are some examples that give the result on the systems of the sysplex:

CICSLIST XSYS

CTASKS XSYS

CDB2CONN XSYS

but this command is not correct:

CTHRESH XSYS

Here is the error message:
GSVX071E XSYS is not a valid keyword for the CTHRESH command
