Issue/Introduction

For security reasons port 23 should be closed and apparently Vantage seems to generate a TN3270 connection on this port when connecting the User.

Is it possible to change the port to 992 and how?

Resolution

Vantage View 3270 is a VTAM application. Forbidding/blocking the Telnet port 23 will not cause any problems in order to access the View 3270 interface.

Regarding the IP and new port - for a new entry point for VTAM applications just use "logon applid(xxxxxx)" or any other VTAM command used to dial/call V3270.
