Issue/Introduction

Granting access to data sets to a user but gets this error message: 

TSS7226E DATASET ACCESS DENIED BY SITE EXIT

Environment

Component : CA Top Secret for z/OS

Cause

See the following link for more details regarding the Top Secret Installation Exit (TSSINSTX) [also known as Site Security Exit]: 

The Top Secret Installation Exit allows users [ie clients] to add user code to Top Secret to add or change Top Secret’s behavior. 

The user code added to the Top Secret Installation Exit is preventing access to the dataset regardless of the PERMIT being granted to the user.

Per the doc:

TSS7226E DATASET ACCESS DENIED BY SITE EXIT

Reason: The site exit failed access to a data set.

Resolution

Action: Check with the site programmers to determine the purpose of the Top Secret Installation Exit User Code. 

Contact the person/team that added the user code to the Top Secret Installation Exit to see why user code is preventing access to the dataset even though the user is PERMITted to the dataset.
