Issue/Introduction

Description:

Executing a CA Log Analyzer for DB2 for z/OS (PLA) job and receiving the following messages:

LAE0008E SORT terminating. Return/Abend Code: 16
WER046A SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED

Solution:

For Batch executions:

Modify the DYNSORT card to provide more capacity for sorting as available on your system.
Example: DYNSORT = (DSNUM(6),SPACE(200,100),MAINSIZE(1000),MSG(Y))

For Online executions:

Go into the first panel of PLA, select "P" for profile and then "2" for Log Reporting Profile Variables where the DYNSORT variables can be adjusted.
