While trying to capture an image, DSTasks.log shows the following error:

Even earlier in the DSTasks.log shows that the file is fine:

The customer is capturing and storing the image in a standalone HTTP server. It was configured in the "Create Image" task, under the Advanced>HTTP tab on that task.
ITMS 8.5
DS 8.5 RU4
Since the customer is capturing from a standalone HTTP server, there were issues with the virtual directory settings.
The best clue to know what happened that caused " 'GHost64.exe' tool failed with exit code 1', return code 0, location 'Tcube_ClientCaptureImage.cpp:430' " is to look at the error message that the task itself generated.
When we looked at the actual "Create Image" task, this was the error that displayed:

Where the HTTP 500 Internal Server Error is a very general HTTP status code that means something has gone wrong on the web site's server but the server could not be more specific on what the exact problem is.
Also, a similar error when deploying an image could be related to the same issue with the virtual directory created:
The "deploy image" task shows the following error:
ErrorMessage: ClientImageDeployException occured ''x\program files\Symantec\Deployment\Downloads\{ABD668D6-E76D-4313-B50C-3309D75D7012}\cache\Ghost\x64\GHost64.exe' tool failed with exit code 1', return code 0, location 'Tcube_ClientImageDeploy.cpp541'

Check the following:
1. Make sure that the desired location is accessible. That you can actually browse to that destination directory from a browser. For this example, that you can open "http://<smpserver>.<domain>.com:8080/images/"
2. Make sure that the virtual directory created on your SMP server has the proper settings as discussed under KB 154365 "Configure IIS 7.5 to allow Ghost and RDeploy image capture and deployment via HTTP in Server 2008 R2 and later"> You want to consider recreating the virtual directory as an option.
