While trying to capture an image, the DSTasks.log shows the following error:
[2020/12/28 15:58:42.890 1808:1448 INFO] Create Image Task: Creating image on web server 'http://<smpserver>.<example>.com:8080/Images/Win10.gho'[2020/12/28 15:58:42.890 1808:1448 INFO] Create Image Task: Starting application 'x:\program files\Symantec\Deployment\Downloads\{ABD668D6-E76D-4313-B50C-3309D75D7012}\cache\Ghost\x64\GHost64.exe' with command-line ' -z1 -batch -sure -clone,MODE=create,SRC=1,DST="HTTP://SV_altiris:*****@s<smpserver>.<example>.com:8080/Images/Win10.gho" -dscrypt' in 'x:\program files\Symantec\Deployment'[2020/12/28 15:58:42.905 1808:1448 <TRC>] Create Image Task: Process created[2020/12/28 15:58:45.15 1808:1448 INFO] Create Image Task: The process completed with exit code 1[2020/12/28 15:58:45.15 1808:1448 *ERRR] Create Image Task: Task failed, ClientCaptureImageException occured ''x:\program files\Symantec\Deployment\Downloads\{ABD668D6-E76D-4313-B50C-3309D75D7012}\cache\Ghost\x64\GHost64.exe' tool failed with exit code 1', return code 0, location 'Tcube_ClientCaptureImage.cpp:430'

Looking at the path x:\program files\Symantec\Deployment\Downloads\{ABD668D6-E76D-4313-B50C-3309D75D7012}\cache\Ghost\x64\GHost64.exe shows that the GHost64.exe file is there.
Even earlier in the DSTasks.log shows that the file is fine:
[2020/12/28 15:58:42.858 1808:1448 <TRC>] Create Image Task: Tool 'x:\program files\Symantec\Deployment\Downloads{ABD668D6-E76D-4313-B50C-3309D75D7012}\cache\Ghost\x64\GHost64.exe' found
The user is capturing and storing the image in a standalone HTTP server. It was configured in the "Create Image" task, under the Advanced>HTTP tab on that task as shown here:
ITMS 8.x
DS 8.x
Since the user was capturing from a standalone HTTP server, there were issues with the virtual directory settings.
The best clue to know what happened that caused the error "'GHost64.exe' tool failed with exit code 1', return code 0, location 'Tcube_ClientCaptureImage.cpp:430' " is to look at the error message that the task itself generated as seen here:
When we looked at the actual "Create Image" task, this was the error that displayed:

Where the HTTP 500 Internal Server Error is a very general HTTP status code that means something has gone wrong on the web site's server but the server could not be more specific on what the exact problem is.
Also, a similar error seen when deploying an image could be related to the same issue with the virtual directory created, and the "deploy image" task shows the following error:
ErrorMessage: ClientImageDeployException occured ''x\program files\Symantec\Deployment\Downloads\{ABD668D6-E76D-4313-B50C-3309D75D7012}\cache\Ghost\x64\GHost64.exe' tool failed with exit code 1', return code 0, location 'Tcube_ClientImageDeploy.cpp541'
