Unable to see TT for High ART Spikes

Issue/Introduction

Seeing a spike in ART times at 3:03:45AM for a WebAPI .Net method.

When switching to the Investigator tab to look at the traces on that server, we did not find any traces that matched up the duration with the Avg Response time. 

Agent Version:- Release 20.4.0.17 (Build 990017)

 

Cause

[WARN] [IntroscopeAgent.WilyTransactionStructure] Transaction trace component limit of 5000 reached, recording of any new components will cease for this transaction.

 

This warning would indicate that TT components in some transaction could stop being recorded due to the TT component limit being reached.

Environment

Release : 10.7.0

Component : APM Agents

Resolution

Customer needs to increase clamps. Defaults are

- introscope.agent.ttClamp=50

- introscope.agent.transactiontrace.componentCountClamp=5000
