CA Automic Workload Automation - Automation Engine

Issue/Introduction

Is there a way to migrate statistics and reports from one system to another running system.

This situation may occur when migrating from one system to another in batches or over time with a subset of objects at a time.

In this situation, it may be that none of the object names, agent names, or database names change. The only thing changing is the hardware that the solution is running on, but there may be time between cutovers meaning there are new statistics in the "old" system and new statisitcs in the "new" system from the time of the original migration.

Environment

Release : 12.2

Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE

Resolution

There's not really a way to move statistics and report records in multiple batches.  A one time migration can be done as mentioned above, but once that is done, the system is going to create new statistics and run ids based off of where it is at that point.  If the records from the old system are then brought into the new system, there's a risk that there will be duplicate runids and its unknown what problems this could cause.

Usually when customers have been in situations like this in the past, the suggestion and action they take is to have side by side systems maintained and end users can log into the old system to view the old records.

Another option is to use the archive browser.  More information on this can be found here: https://docs.automic.com/documentation/webhelp/english/AA/12.3/DOCU/12.3/Automic%20Automation%20Guides/help.htm#Utilities/admin_AboutArchiveBrowser.htm, but this might not suit the situation.
