CA Virtual Network Assurance DX NetOps CA Performance Management - Usage and Administration

Issue/Introduction

Virtual Network Assurance (VNA) is integrated with DX NetOps Performance Management.

The Cisco Viptela Plugin is configured to gather Inventory and Metrics data via vManage APIs.

Tunnel items and their related Connections missing from SD-WAN Views in Performance Center on the Geo-Map.

The Tunnels are also missing from Inventory->Tunnels in Performance Center.

Environment

All supported releases of DX NetOps Performance Management integrated with Virtual Network Assurance (VNA).

Cause

This issue is seen when Virtual Network Assurance (VNA) is either re-installed on the same host or a different host, while the related VNA Gateway is not deleted and recreated in Performance Center.

This leaves old ItemIDs for the same items that get new instances created due to the VNA re-install. This prevents the affected items from being properly synchronized to Performance Center Inventory.

Resolution

When VNA is re-installed on the same host, or is installed on a new host, the VNA Gateway for that VNA instance MUST be deleted and then re-added to reset the integration.

This will deleted the existing Inventory, generating a new instance of the same Inventory with new ItemIDs. These will then by synced to Performance Center Inventory.

This resolves the Tunnels and their Connections missing from the SD-WAN Geo-Map Views.
