Username is not Remembered with Web Viewer 12.1 Signon

Issue/Introduction

The Remember Username box under the Password field is checked but the Username is not remembered on the sign on screen.

Also can Remember Username be turned off?

Environment

Release : 12.1

Component : Web VIEWER FOR ALL PLATFORMS

 

Cause

Cookies must be enabled.  Maintenance is needed.

Resolution

The Browser must be set to allow cookies as this is how Web Viewer remembers the user name. If the settings are greyed out, your company is controlling this setting.

Apply Cumulative Build 225 or higher.  Apply the latest build to get all updates and security fixes. Fixes are platform independent. The browser must be configured to allow cookies

In Edge

1. On your computer, open the Edge browser.
2. Click the Menu button, found at the top-right corner of the web page, and then click Settings.
3. Click Cookies and site permissions and then Manage and delete cookies and site data.
4. Choose the option Allow sites to save and read cookie data.

 

In Chrome

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. At the top right, click More. Settings.
3. Under "Privacy and security," click Site settings.
4. Click Cookies and site data.
5. From here, you can: Turn on cookies

Additional Information

It is possible to turn off "Remember Username" From the Admin preferences panel.
