Restore files with NEWNAME option.

Issue/Introduction

We installed the latest maintenance version for DISK was installed. We currently have an error when trying to restore a file.

RESTORE DSN=PROD.DSN1                                   NEWNAME=PROD.DSN1,                                          TIMEDATE=12345                                                                                     ADSDM314 4649 COMMAND REJECTED - NEWNAME PARM CANNOT MATCH DSNAME PARM, DSN=PROD.DSN1

 

Environment

Release : Disk Backup and Restore 12.5

Cause

RESTORE command validation found the NEWNAME= parameter specified the same data set name as the DSNAME parameter.

Resolution

Apply the PTF SO12594 to fix the problem.
Correct the NEWNAME parameter and resubmit the request.
