Question regarding fix SO14588

Issue/Introduction

We are planning to upgrade to z/VM 7.2 in the near future.  I found fix SO14588 for VM:Tape. 

Can this be applied prior to the upgrade without affecting our tape processing as it is today on a 6.4 or a 7.1 system?

Resolution

Yes, the PTF can be applied and deployed to VM:Tape prior to the z/VM upgrade.
