Question regarding fix SO14588

Issue/Introduction

We are planning to upgrade to z/VM 7.2 in the near future.  I found fix SO14588 for VM:Tape. 

Can this be applied prior to the upgrade without affecting our tape processing as it is today on a 6.4 or a 7.1 system?

Component : CA VM:Tape for zVM

Resolution

Yes, the PTF can/(should) be applied and deployed for VM:Tape running on a z/VM release prior to 7.2 as a proactive measure.



Obviously if you need to run VM:Tape on z/VM 7.2, then you *must* have to PTF applied or VM:Tape will no mount tapes.
