How to generate a new UIM logmon alarm and clear previous alarm

Issue/Introduction

We created one profile in logmon and mode is command and profile run every 12 hr. And every time generated new alert with new nimid.  

But old alarm always in open state. And we already applied suppression key in watcher profile.

Our requirement is, alert should be generated when the system uptime is 1 day. So, created a custom match expression and set the variable values as 1 .

Our goal is...Generate a new alarm and clear the old one when it generates the second alarm

example :-

Environment

UIM: All versions

Logmon: All versions

Resolution

In order to achieve this, you need to create 2 profiles as below

 

1) This is the first profile

 

General Tab

 

Watcher Rules -> Variables

 

Watcher Rules -> Standard Tab

 

Watcher Rules -> Alarm Tab

Message Subsystem ID: 1.1

Suppression Key: boot_time

With the above profile, it generates an alarm

 

2) Create 2nd Profile

 

General Tab

 

 

Watcher Rules -> Standard Tab

 

Watcher Rules -> Alarm Tab

 

With above, before it generates a new alert (with new NimID value), first it clears the previous alert
