Issue/Introduction

xFlow was attempted to be installed in E:\Program Files (x86)\CA\xFlow.

SearchServer was attempted to be installed on the same server in E:\Program Files (x86)\CA\CASearchServer.

xFlow and Search server were not installed successfully.

In Services, the Search Service service is missing and the xFlow service is starting but is not working as expected.

The Search Server and xFlow must be installed not in 'Program Files (x86)' but in 'Program Files'.

This requires uninstalling xFlow and SearchServer and then reinstalling in the proper 'Program Files' folder.

Environment

Service Desk Manager 17.x

XFLOW INTERFACE

All Supported Windows Operating Systems

Cause

xFlow is not completely uninstalled

Resolution

1.  Uninstall xFlow and Search Server via 'Add/Remove' Programs

2.  All related xFlow or Search Server entries with that specific machine need to be cleared/removed from the al_cdb_componentinstallstate and al_cdb_configurationparameters tables in the MDB database

3.  On the server under the C:\Windows\ folder, locate the analystUI.ini file (for xFlow ) or searchServerUI.ini file (for Search Server ) and delete these files.
