nimrecorder extension 7.1.115 is no longer available in the Chrome web store

Issue/Introduction

Cannot download the e2e_appmon nimrecorder chrome browser extension any longer.

The nimrecorder nimrecorder version 7.1.115 was available in the store but is it no longer there / not available. 

Is this a known issue? How can we install this version? 

Chrome-stats.com shows the following,

• DX UIM 20.4.* / 23.4.* 
• e2e_appmon probe (any version)

Chrome Webstore extension availability

Resolution

As per March 2025 the nimrecorder is again available in the Chrome Webstore. 

 

The below steps describe how to copy the nimrecorder from one browser to an other, in case the nimrecorder is not available in the store: 

Workaround while we make the Chrome extension available again: 

Copy the Chrome NimRecorder extension e.g., from another PC that currently still has the NimRecorder extension, to the PC that needs it.

Steps: 

1. Copy the "User Data" folder from the working PC located at:

C:\Users\XXXXXX\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome

2. Paste it on the PC that requires the Chrome NimRecorder extension

3. Locate the file in  c:/ProgramData/NimRecorder/ChromeMsgHostManifest and register the extension in the ChromeMsgHostManifest file.
    (Update the id from the extension. The id is like:  "mcncocipaacjcdhpnchdnomdehdkoehp" )
