Unable to access DLP Enforce Console Out of buffer errors

Issue/Introduction

If a DLP services are configured to use a domain service account, instead of a local service account, periodically the service lose connection to the enforce console until the service is restarted. In the DLP logs, instances of "Out of buffer" errors are observed.

Environment

Release : 15.x

Component : Enforce

Cause

The service account is missing permissions on the Monitor Controller folder in program data.

Resolution

  • Stop all Enforce Services.
  • Provide permissions to the service account on program data (to be safe provide to program files as well)
  • Start all Enforce Services
