Issue/Introduction

This technical document provides an explanation and workaround for the following issue:

If a hub origin name contains a single quote (e.g: Hotel's) the inventory dashboards in OC does not display any device information or data for the devices when using an Account Contact User.

Environment

Release : 20.3

Component : UIM - OPERATOR CONSOLE

Cause

When logged in as an account contact user, reports/dashboards in CABI filter data on the allowed origins of the logged in user.

So the queries uses 'Hotel's' (in this example) in the query filter which is not a valid syntax by the database. This is because the ‘ is used in SQL queries  ‘origin=hotel’s’ for example the query uses origin=hotel, but has an issue with the following ‘s.

Resolution

A workaround would be to use “ instead.
