Issue/Introduction

We have a report that returns all Critical and Major alarms for the past 6 hours and it is returning with no data.

Component : Spectrum Report Manager (SRM) / CABI/Jasper

Resolution

NOTE: Starting from DX NetOps Spectrum 21.2.4, the default root password for MySql is "MySqlR00t". For DX NetOps Spectrum versions prior to 21.2.4, the default root password is "root". In the following MySql commands, replace <PASSWD> with the root password for your DX NetOps Spectrum version.
 
1 - Log into the SRM system as the user that owns the installation
 
2 - If on Windows, start a bash shell by running "bash -login"
 
3 - cd to the $SPECROOT/mysql/bin directory and enter the following command to log into mysql:
 
./mysql --defaults-file=../my-spectrum.cnf -uroot -p<PASSWD> reporting -A
 
4. Run following command at the mysql prompt:
 
select from * from landscape\G

5. Check the alarm_sync_time value if this table hasn't updated to include the time frame the report is being run against it will provide 0 data.

  • Check the Tomcat logs (stdout.log (windows) or catalina.out (RHEL) for any errors relating to SRM.
  • Restarting Tomcat will force SRM to re-sync and resolve many connection issues relating to alarm or event synchronization.
