We would like to stop the automatic creation of Provider Cloud Models in Spectrum.
Can you please let us know how we can accomplish this.
Release : 10.4.x
Component : Spectrum OneClick / Discovery
Provider Clouds are automatically created when discovering devices using EVPN Manager.
They can also be created due to BGP Polling and also from receiving traps from the devices.
You can check the attribute mdl_creat_method (0x12a73) to see how the Provider Cloud was created automatically.
In our instance we did the following:
1. We disabled BGP Monitoring at the VNM model, this is because it will poll BGP mibs to monitor ASNs and from there it will create the Provider Cloud Models. We will use BGP traps for monitoring.
2. Under Enterprise VPN Discovery, we set the option "Create on Trap" to No. As we are not using EVPN Manager, but this option still caused Provider Clouds to be created.
Afterwards we deleted the Provider Cloud models and they did not come back.
