Cause

Database recovery from a backup for Symantec Data Center Security Server: Server Advanced (SDCSSA)

Resolution

Steps to restore the DCS database from a backup :

1) Install a new SQL Database server.

2) Stop "Symantec Data Center Security Server Manager" service.

3) Login to SQL Server Management Studio.

4) Browse Databases, and right-click on SCSPDB database
 
5) Click on Tasks > Restore > Select the Backup and run it.

6) Browse Databases, and right-click on DCSC_UMC database.

7) Click on Tasks > Restore > Select the Backup and run it.

8) Additionally, you may import or create database accounts/passwords from SQL Server database (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/sql/security/transfer-logins-passwords-between-instances).

9) Start "Symantec Data Center Security Server Manager" service.
