User not authorized to create Dashboards

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to save a dashboard, the Automic Web Interface states a user does not have the correct permissions to perform the action.

Environment

Release : 12.3

Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE

Cause

No access to the /dashboards folder within the client.

Resolution

To create a dashboard, the user will need W access to the \dashboards folder. You can see this is the cause of the error if you have an admin user check in a client with SECURITY_AUDIT_FAILURE and USER_PRIVILEGES set.

You will see the following in the messages window:

04/12/2020 16:49:07  U00004506 Access violation: User: 'AUTOMIC/AUTOMIC' Object: '\DASHBOARDS' Access: 'W' Reason: No right found in authorization group '1'.
04/12/2020 16:49:07  U00004519 Access violation details: Used filter: 'FOLD/\DASHBOARDS//////' .

In this case, permission needed to be added to \DASHBOARDS
