Issue/Introduction

After upgrading from Symantec Protection Engine (SPE) 8.0 or earlier to SPE 8.1, custom created ICAP connectors receive 500 internal server error result for all file scans except plain text when using the RESPMOD method.

Cause

SPE 8.1 began requiring req-hdr=0 to be present in the headers of the scan request, even when calling RESPMOD. This should not be required normally.

Resolution

To work around the issue, req-hdr=0 can be added to the headers of RESPMOD requests.

A hotfix is available for this issue, download and apply the fix attached if adding the req-hdr=0 header to scan requests is not feasible.
