Issue/Introduction

We are facing issue with upgrade of provisioning server in Stage environment which is installed on CentOS with r14.1 CP8. The installer starts with fresh install and is not asking to upgrade imps component. This is only happening for 2 imps nodes out of 15 nodes. For the other nodes, installer was able to detect existing installation and upgrade successfully.

Does not detect IMPS and only allows a fresh install.  Can not upgrade IMPS.

Environment

Non-App. Wildfly 8.2.1. OS: CentOS. Oracle db. Provisioning enabled. Current environment: r14.1 CP8. To be upgraded to 14.3 CP2.

Resolution

Found 6 files missing on the node where IMPS would not allow the upgrade and only install was an option.

They had a working node and these were the files found missing:
/apps/CA/IdentityManager/ProvisioningServer/_uninst/uninstall.jar
/apps/CA/IdentityManager/ProvisioningServer/_uninst/uninstaller.bin
/apps/CA/IdentityManager/ProvisioningServer/_uninst/uninstall.dat
/apps/CA/IdentityManager/ProvisioningServer/_uninst/CAIMInfo.jar
/apps/CA/IdentityManager/ProvisioningServer/version.txt
/root/vpd.properties

Copied these files from the working node to the non-working node.  Now the IMPS upgrade works.  No root cause as to why these files were missing.
