OPSMAIN ABEND SA03 while coming up after IPL

It can happen that, after an IPL, trying to start OPSMAIN task, it gets the following abend:

What can be the cause and how to bypass this problem

Resolution

When the task OPSMAIN abended SA03 during start after an IPL, the following messages were found in the system log:

OPSMAIN was trying to start but it was waiting for DFHSM to be started to recall  PLEXVARDSN file that was migrated.This is the VSAM dataset name of the shared VSAM KSDS used to backup permanent sysplex variables in real time. This file is involved at Start of OPSMAIN and the fact that it was migrated, locked all the subsequent subtasks chained with it. Due to this problem and due to the fact that probably DFHSM was not automatically started by any automation tool (deadlock situation) , the following recursive messages were also issued:

Even trying to start DFHSM at this time, it is too late to restore the whole OPSMAIN activity.

The suggestion is to remove all the target functional datasets used by OPSMAIN from the DFHSM control.
