Rally Sync Failure: java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe (Write failed)

Issue/Introduction

The scheduled Synchronize Agile Central job is failing intermittently. In the Clarity UI job history, the error mentions an an invalid lookup value, but the bg-ca.log also references a connection timed out error.

From the Clarity UI:

In the bg-ca.logs, the following is referenced:

java.lang.Exception: Could not sync milestones 
 at com.ca.ppm.agl.services.ProjectSyncManager.syncMilestones(ProjectSyncManager.java:549)

Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Connection timed out (Read failed)

Resolution

If this error only happens one time, it can be ignored, but if it is occurring more frequently, please contact Broadcom Support for assistance.
