Unable to configure sqlserver probe - Probe has to be restarted for connection test

Issue/Introduction

The sqlserver probe worked fine but stopped working and SQL Server connection fails with "Probe has to be restarted for connection test"

We also noticed the the sqlserver configuration UI displays "Probe version 4.xx" instead of the actual sqlserver probe version.

Removing the sqlserver probe completely does not resolved the probe version display issue.

 

Error captured in the sqlserver.log:

sqlserver: Profile: mysqlserverconnection/check_dbalive/Connect - COM Error: Code=0x80040e4d Source=Microsoft OLE DB Provider
for ODBC Drivers Description=[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'nimuser'. 

Environment

Release : 9.0.2, 9.20, 20.1, 20.3

Component : UIM - SQLSERVER

Cause

Suspect robot instance

Resolution

1. Backup the Nimsoft folder

2. Uninstall the robot and remove the Nimsoft folder

3. Reinstall the robot

4. Deploy and configure the sqlserver probe
