CA Output Management Web Viewer

Issue/Introduction

We could not sign in to the product over weekend. It sent a message that the software is not available. The product is installed on a Linux server.

Our network engineers did some updates on this server over the weekend and at one time we noticed that Tomcat did not restart automatically and we had to do it manually (is this normal ?). How do we get Web Viewer/Tomcat to start automatically after a Linux Server recycle?

Environment

Release : 12.1

Component : CA OUTPUT MANAGEMENT WEB VIEWER FOR ALL PLATFORMS

Resolution

You can start Tomcat from a shell script or as a service/daemon on a Linux server. To have it start automatically after a Linux Server restart, you have to write the script yourself.

Linux is very different than the Windows Server environment. In Linux, you don't have the Services Manager like you do in Windows. Broadcom does not provide any scripts that might be used to load the Tomcat daemon after a restart. Your systems people will need to do that for you.
