Issue/Introduction

Is there a way to import User definitions into Web Viewer 14? Web Viewer 12.1 can export User Definitions in an XML file. Can Web Viewer 14 read them?

Resolution

No.  You cannot migrate user definitions from Web Viewer 12.1 to Web Viewer 14.0. 

This is because Web Viewer 14.0 does not store user information.   It does not have a user table.  Web Viewer 14.0 relies on the View® repository security to log in users.  To login to Web Viewer 14.0 the user needs to have a valid z/OS credentials for the system where their application server is running.

There are only two utilities provided with Web Viewer 14.0 for conversions:

• One to migrate repositories from a DRAS Config File.
• One to migrate export rules.
