Datamart ExtractionJob Performance in Oracle Exadata X8

Issue/Introduction

The Datamart Extraction job is taking more time to execute after database migration from P8 to X8.

P8 execution time was 15-20 mins, but in X8 execution time is 180-200 mins.

Resolution

1. Review section that can generally-apply to any version of Oracle

2. Have the DBA team create and review the AWR report.

3. Have the DBA team update the stats and rerun the job.
Compare the runtime before and after the update of stats.

4.  Review the Administration > Data Administration > Time Slices
The time slice ids (1,2,3,10,11) feed the datamart. Generally, keep the slices to a total 2-year range as this has a direct affect on the runtime.
