Issue/Introduction

We are migrating apm cluster to new environment - from 10.2 to 10.7. We have few mq agents installed in our collectors , which remotely monitors some mq.

HostA | Websphere Message Queue and Broker| Queue Manager | QM1

HostA | Websphere Message Queue and Broker| Queue Manager | QM2

HostB | Websphere Message Queue and Broker| Queue Manager | QM1

If i move the mq agents to new EM server and copy over the data folder to new EM and take over the hostname of old EM, eveything will fine.

If i do not take over the hostname of old EM and copy over the data folder as well as mq agents to new EM with new hostname, will there be conflict while i query historical data as hotstname is diff for the new data of mq agents and old data of same mq agents?

also, if i had a custom domain with 1-2 agents, and i remove the custom domain and put those under super domain, will there be conflict in metric path if i migrate data foldeR?

Environment

 

APPLICATION PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT  10.7.0

Resolution

As host name is different, metric source will be different and as domain is different, metric source will be different .so it will be like new agents.

you will not be able to correlate data as for EM will be different agents.
