Issue/Introduction

Modern UI - When creating a new project from Template, the start and end dates of the project and tasks are not retained.

Same behavior is seen when creating an Idea from Template

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. In classic UX, create a project template with tasks and specify start and finish dates for each
  2. In Administration, Objects, the Project Object, Attributes, set the attribute default date to a Specific Date for the Start and Finish attributes
  3. In Administration, Objects, the Project Object, Views, Project Properties, Fields, make sure ‘No Override Date’ is selected for Start Date and Finish Date in those attributes’ properties
  4. In the New UX, create a new project from the template created in step 1

Expected Results: Project and Task start and finish dates respect the template and/or object properties settings

Actual Results: the start and finish dates default to the current date in New UX. In Classic UI this works properly.

Environment

Any Clarity release

Resolution

By default Modern UX Start and Finish dates are set to Today's date. The default value set at attribute level on the Studio > Objects or at template itself are not taken into account.

Currently there is a Template Modal that allows the Start and Finish dates to be defined during the creation from the template. The ability to specify the dates during the creation is defined in the Blueprint's template settings.
