When different GSS tasks use the same ILOG files this can result in the SRV354 CAN'T GET ILOG ENQ : CAI.DB2.GSS.LOG01#0 error message. Use GSS "NOOPEN" parm to correct this error
Release : 11.0
Component : Global Subsystem for MVS (CA-GSS)
In the past, you were not allowed to define the same ILOG files for different GSS tasks, that is you could not use the same initialization parameters for multiple GSS tasks. Since PTF RO25359 (for GSS/r12) you can now use the same INIT file for multiple GSS tasks, but if you define the same ILOG files for different systems, you have to add the new option "NOOPEN" to those ILOG statements. Some applications that use GSS need to be able to control when ILOGs are opened and closed. PTF RO25358 introduced a new parm for the ILOG definition statement in the GSS RUNPARMS called NOOPEN. This parm allows for ILOG datasets to be defined to GSS, but not opened. This allows multiple GSS started tasks to define the same ILOGs. These are allocated as DISP=SHR to prevent allocation conflict. To address the SRV354 CAN'T GET ILOG ENQ error message please add the option "NOOPEN" to the ILOG files.
As always, please contact Broadcom support for CA Global Subsystem (CA-GSS) if you have further questions.
