Populate button is not working in Classic Timesheets

Issue/Introduction

Populate button is not working for some users in Classic Timesheets.

Component : CA PPM TIME MANAGEMENT

Resolution

If there are no tasks are found by the system to populate at least one task, the action won't perform any action. Review the below to see if settings are enabled as needed and at least one task assignment falls within the task population algorithm. 

A few known causes of this include:

• The Timesheet Populate button is missing due to 'Copy time entries from previous timesheet' being unchecked. If this is unchecked, then tasks that were on the prior timesheet will not be added unless they fall under the timesheet algorithm as defined in Timesheet Population - What Determines Tasks To Appear on a Timesheet? 
  • Note: This setting gets unchecked when the New User Experience is activated. See New UX Timesheets - Getting Started for more changes you may see when activating New UX Timesheets
• Other factors that impact whether the populate function adds a task to the timesheet:
  • If the user's assignment for the task is in "Completed" status. To check if this is the cause:
    • Navigate to the task expected to be added
    • From the assignment list view, add Status
    • View the Status value for the user seeing the issue
  • Whether the task assignment dates are within the Timesheet populate window as defined in Administration->Timesheet Options
